3. What my own Lolita lifestyle is like

What is a Lolita lifestyle? Some might say it is "loli-fying" everyday objects and spending your days leisurely sipping tea in a récamier. Others might argue that it means to educate oneself in the arts and crafts of a true lady. Or something. I'm honestly not sure what it means. I don't even like tea.

But I must admit that there are times when, even if unconsciously, I think "what a very Lolita thing to do!". Or  a place or action evokes the same feelings that the concept of this fashion does. I guess these moments, that aren't necessarily related to a way of dressing (even if, for me, Lolita is just that), are little bits of my "Lolita lifestyle".

Today I will share some of these little things and moments that make me inspired to create things Lolita or just "feel" the concept in ways other than clothes.

♦ Music

These two bands, Kokusyoku Sumire and Malice Mizer, relate to Lolita fashion not only in looks but in sound. I love how they mix classic instrumentation and techniques with modern instruments and style. The result is modern eastern music with obvious influences of western past times. And the costumes are just great.

Shiina Ringo is one of my favorite musicians, and I first learned about her through this very video, in a Lolita website, many years ago (even if she actually has nothing to do with the fashion!). Most of her PVs don't follow this aesthetic, but she has a few other songs that are similar to this one in mood, and that remind me of Lolita.

♦ Painting

I love drawing, but painting feels totally different - not painting on canvas, that is rare for me to do. I have taken a liking to using gouache paints on paper to create fabric prints. Textiles by the Haussmann brothers and William Morris inspire me. Thid picture shows some of the prints I worked on earlier this year. Hopefully they will become actual fabric pretty soon! ♦ Beautiful/historical places

Visiting this type of place is great: they are often full of little details than you can admire or take inspiration from.

Thanks to books and the internet, we have access to imagens of works of art and locations we normally couldn't visit, and that is great for creating inspiration boards like Pinterest (I'm in the middle of creating mine, soon I'll share the link!).
But personally entering a historical building (this picture I took at Catedral da Sé, in São Paulo, Brasil, which is Neogothic and has Byzantine style mosaics) can be an enriching experience if we know how to absorb all the wonder of such places!

I wonder how others would interpret the term "Lolita lifestyle". Please share your answers!

3. Como é meu próprio estilo de vida Lolita

O que é Lolita lifestyle? Alguns diriam que é "lolificar" objetos do dia-a-dia e passar as tardes tomando chá em um récamier. Outros talvez argumentem que é se educar nas artes e ofícios de uma dama. Or algo assim. Eu sinceramente não sei o que quer dizer. Eu nem gosto de chá.
No entando, devo admitir que há momentos em que, mesmo insconscientemente, eu penso "que coisa mais Lolita de se fazer!". Ou um lugar ou ação evoca a mesma sensação que o conceito desse estilo. Acho que esses momentos, que não são necessariamente relacionados a um modo de se vestir (embora, para mim, Lolita seja exatamente isso), sejam pedacinhos do meu "lifestyle Lolita".

Hoje eu vou compartilhar algumas dessas pequenas coisas e momentos que me deixam inspirada e criar coisas Lolita ou simplesmente "sentir" o conceito de outros modos, além das roupas.

♦ Música

Essas duas bandas, Kokusyoku Sumire e Malice Mizer, estão relacionadas a Lolita não só na aparência mas no som. Adoro como eles misturam instrumentação e técnicas clássicas com instrumentos e estilo modernos O resultado é música atual do Oriente com influências óbvias dos tempos passados no Ocidente. Sem falar que as roupas são maravilhosas.

Shiina Ringo é uma das minhas artistas favoritas, e eu a descobri através deste mesmo vídeo, em um site sobre Lolita, muitos anos atrás (mesmo ela na verdade não tendo nada a ver com o estilo!). A maioria dos PVs dela não segue essa estética, mas ela tem algumas outras músicas parecidas com essa, que me lembra Lolita.

♦ Pintar

Adoro desenhar, mas pintar dá uma sensação completamente diferente - não pintar em tela, isso é raro para mim. Eu tenho usado gouache em papel para criar estampas para tecidos. Estampas dos irmãos Haussmann e William Morris me inspiram. A foto ao lado mostra algumas das artes em que trabalhei no começo do ano. Espero que possam se tornar tecidos em breve! É possível ver meus designs mais antigos (não com tinta) na minha loja no Spoonflower.

♦ Lugares bonitos e/ou históricos

Visitar esse tipo de lugar é ótimo: geralmente são cheios de pequenos detalhes dos quais posso tirar inspiração ou simplesmente admirar.

Graças aos livros e à internet temos acesso a imagens de obras de arte e locações que normalmente não poderíamos visitar, o que é ótimo para montar painéis de inspiração estilo Pinterest (estou no processo de criação do meu, em breve compartilharei o link!).
Mas entrar pessoalmente em um prédio histórico (ao lado uma foto que tirei na Catedral da Sé, em São Paulo, que é Neogótica e tem murais no estilo Bizantino) pode ser uma experiência muito rica se soubermos absorver toda a maravilha desses lugares!

Imagino como serão as interpretações de outras pessoas para o termo "estilo de vida Lolita". Não deixe de compartilhar suas respostas!
